Sofia Jakobsson arrived at London City ahead of the 2024/25 season, penning a two-year deal at the club signing from San Diego Wave.

She joined the club with a wealth of top-level international and domestic experience, including national championships clinched in Sweden, Russia, and the United States, whilst also playing for the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. 

Jakobsson has also been a national team mainstay since 2011, winning two silver medals at the Olympic Games (2016, 2020) and two bronze medals at the FIFA Women’s World Cup (2011, 2019). 

Last season, Jakobsson played a key role in our promotion to the Women’s Super League, involved in 8 goals in the league, including a crucial winner against Newcastle in the final run-in.
