World-class midfielder, Danielle van de Donk brings elite experience and proven quality to London City Lionesses.

Van de Donk started her career in the Netherlands, playing for Willem II, VVV-Venlo and PSV. Shortly after her first move abroad to Swedish side Göteborg, the midfielder signed for WSL outfit Arsenal.

The technically gifted and intelligent midfielder starred with the Gunners for six years and established herself as one of the best in the world at her craft, winning numerous cups and the WSL title in 2018-19.

She then made the move to OL Lyonnes, and continued to add silverware to her impressive CV, winning the Division 1 Féminine three times, more domestic trophies and the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2021/22.

Internationally, van de Donk has played 167 times, and has won the UEFA Women’s Euros with the Oranje’s, playing a key part in their 2017 triumph on home soil.
