London City Lionesses
London City come into today’s fixture following competitive London derbies against Chelsea and West Ham, where the points were shared in both.
Last time out, Jana Fernández’s composed finish gave City the lead after a brilliant breakaway move with Freya Godfrey.
Despite creating further chances, City were forced to settle for a point after a long-range equaliser from the hosts.
There is added momentum within the squad following a positive international window. Twelve London City players represented seven nations, with several returning with silverware, milestones and strong individual performances.

Returning confident and match-sharp, and backed by our home crowd, London City will look to translate that international success into a strong performance back in league action.
Team News
Eder Maestre provided the following injury updates in his pre-match press conference:
Kosovare Asllani has successfully undergone surgery following her complex multi-ligament knee injury, including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Just over a week on from the procedure, she has already taken her first steps in recovery. Maestre praised her “warrior mentality” and resilience, reaffirming his and the club’s full support on her road to recovery.
Freya Godfrey and Malou Marcetto, who both came off with knocks against West Ham, have returned to fitness and are available for selection ahead of the Leicester clash.

Grace Geyoro and Delphine Cascarino were both doubts as of Friday’s press conference.
Isa Kardinaal is in contention for selection.
Daniëlle van de Donk is currently sidelined with an injury and will miss the Leicester fixture, with her availability for the remainder of the season unknown at this stage.
Opposition Overview: Leicester City
Leicester City arrive in South London looking to turn their fortunes around in the closing stages of the season.
Despite sitting at the bottom of the Barclays Women’s Super League table, the Foxes have proven they can be a difficult side to face, particularly against London City.

Leicester have already recorded two 1-0 victories over us this season, in both the league and the Subway Women’s League Cup, and will take confidence from those results heading into today’s fixture.
Eder Maestre was quick to mention in his press conference the danger of underestimating Rick Passmoor’s side based on their league position, speaking about their ability to press high and create good chances, and also their extra motivation to lift themselves off the bottom of the table.
Some key faces in the Leicester side to keep an eye on will be Janina Leitzig in net, who saved a penalty against us in the reverse fixture. Captain Sam Tierney will be likely to get 90 minutes, whilst Alanna Kennedy’s international teammate Emily van Egmond offers top-level experience to Leicester. The Foxes carry attacking threats through players such as Missy Goodwin, Hannah Cain and January signing Alisha Lehmann.
Last Time We Met
The last meeting between the sides saw Leicester City secure a narrow 1-0 victory at the King Power Stadium earlier this season.
It was a closely contested game decided by fine margins, a pattern that has defined this fixture so far.

London City will be aiming to shift that narrative this afternoon and secure a positive result on home turf.
