London City Lionesses are pleased to announce the appointment of Marc Lamberts as a recruitment analyst intern.
Lamberts joins London City following his time working in both the Dutch men’s game, as a recruitment analyst at VVV-Venlo, and then in the Sweden women's top division, working as an opposition scout/analyst for Linköping FC.
When asked how it to feels to have joined the Lionesses, Lambert said:
“It's an amazing opportunity for me personally to be involved in women's football and at such a high level,” he said.
“I've worked in men's football in the Netherlands, Sweden and in the US, but to be involved in women's football in England, is both a dream and a great challenge.
“These last few months I've been working on the opposition analysis with the analysis department and I'm looking forward to working together with everyone in recruitment to get the club forward.”
Lamberts went onto add:
“I'm always looking for ways to challenge myself, and with the progression London City Lionesses are making, I know that I want to take on the challenge and help the club in reaching their goals.
“LCL is a progressive club with a strong set of ideals, principles, and commitment to the community, and that's exactly the kind of football club I want to be affiliated with.”
Speaking on the appointment, Sporting Director Edward Gallagher had this to say:
"We had a fantastic summer ahead of the 21/22 campaign where we were able to retain our high level players but also recruit some top talent to join London City Lionesses.
“Our scouts and analysis team have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming summer and adding Marc to our bank of recruitment staff will assist us ahead of the new season.
“He has vast knowledge of players across the European market and I look forward to working with him."
Finally, I asked Lambert what his goals were at London City:
“We all strive for success, and I look forward to playing a part in the clubs strong push for promotion to the WSL.
“On a more personal level, I want to contribute to the data side of the recruitment process and help establish a department that can aid the non-playing and playing staff in achieving their goals.”
