London City Lionesses Thanks Departing Players



London City Lionesses can confirm that the following players will be departing the club following the conclusion of the season and would like to thank them for their contribution to the club:


Hannah Short, Lily Pursey, Kenni Thompson, Annie Rossiter, Alli Murphy, Mollie Rouse and Brooke Nunn.


Also leaving the club is Melis Mehmet and Wiktoria Fronc, who were part of the 2021/22 squad, dual signed with the Arsenal and West Ham WSL Academies respectively.


Speaking on the players departing, Head Coach Melissa Phillips had this to say:


"We’ve come so far in such a short amount of time as a club and to achieve our highest ever league finish along with first victories over WSL opposition is true testament to the impact of every member of the team.


"With the close of each season, changes are always presented within the squad and we are grateful for the commitment and contribution which these players made along the journey.


“A few who have been a part of the club since the start, will always be a part of the foundations set for future successes.


"We wish each player departing the best in their next chapter and will always closely follow their journey."


A number of players from the London City Lionesses Development and Academy teams will also be departing, with the club working closely with them to ensure they all continue to play and find a team appropriate to support their continued football development.


London City Lionesses would like to sincerely thank all of the players for their time at London City Lionesses and wish them all the very best for the future.
