London City Lionesses sign Kenni Thompson ahead of first match of the season

London City Lionesses are delighted to announce the club have signed Kenni Thompson ahead of the upcoming 2021/22 FA Women’s Championship season.

The Pride have made a strong addition to the squad with the signing of Kenni Thompson as the new season officially begins tomorrow.


The Bermuda-born 21-year-old joins from Spanish women’s first division side, CD Santa Teresa. Thompson has spent most of her professional playing career in Spain showcasing her talent in the competitive first and second divisions. At the age of 16, she became a Spanish Champion.


Her former clubs include Deportivo de La Coruña and Espanyol. Prior to moving to Spain, Thompson was a part of the Chelsea F.C. U15 set up.


Head Coach Melissa Phliips shared her thoughts on the club’s newest addition and said, “Kenni is a bright young player with tremendous technical ability and understanding of the game. She has been able to come into the environment and integrate seamlessly, while looking to challenge herself physically and mentally and at this stage in her career. We have goals that strongly align and look forward to challenging Kenni to get the best out of her in the year ahead.”


Thompson shared her thoughts on joining the Pride, “I’m so happy to be joining such an ambitious club with great values. I can’t wait to start the season and develop my game further.”
