With the Lionesses in such prolific form in the back, defender Harley Bennett was awarded the FA Women’s Championship September Player of the Month.
Bennett has been the mainstay in this season’s stable backline, wearing the captain's armband for the second consecutive season.
Last season, Bennet was the first player to surpass 50 appearances for London City.
The Lionesses are second in the Championship in fewest goals allowed with just four, but the top of the league in clean sheets, totaling three through five league games.
Bennett became the first London City player this season to receive this honor.
She has played in every match of the league season so far, contributing in every minute in the defense for the Lionesses.
Bennett has been at the heart of the club since the beginning, joining London City in 2019 following a successful run with Charlton Athletic.
