Julia Roddar's first month at London City Lionesses has included a pair of preseason appearances, a tour to Spain, and many hours spent at the training ground in Kent.
On Tuesday [27 August], the Swedish international lifted the lid on her excitement for the new season, working with Jocelyn PrĂȘcheur, and more.
You're a month into your London City career, how have you found it so far?
It's been a lot of fun, we went to Spain, and got the group together. I feel like we're starting to build relationships with each other and it's been a great first few weeks here. I feel like we've made a lot of progress every day, with the Ipswich Town being about a lot of new people trying to create relationships and play together for the first time. It was tough for us to synchronise in the right way on that day, but you could see that we had made a lot of improvements two weeks later when we played against Tottenham.
We're now twelve days away from playing against Newcastle United and I think we still have some work to do build better relationships for that game.
Are you excited for the first game of the season against Newcastle United?
I'm very excited. It's going to be very fun playing at Hayes Lane, it looks like a great stadium and I'm excited to play in the atmosphere there. I'm looking forward to playing in a new league and against new opponents.
How have you enjoyed working with Jocelyn?
It's been very good, Jocelyn has great energy and he's really good tactically. Now, we just have to try to learn from him every day and learn fast because we have very big games coming up. I feel like it's coming together and we're just trying to move forward every day.
Lastly, what's your message to the fans?
We really need our supporters there and I think it'll be a fun game to see. Hopefully, we will start the season well and people will come to watch us for the rest of the year, too.
London City fans, it's almost time.
