Jocelyn Prêcheur: 'We have a lot to take away from this game'

After our game on Sunday [10 November], Jocelyn Prêcheur spoke to reporters at Hayes Lane. This is every word he said.

How would you sum up the team's performance today?

We have a lot to take away from this game, unfortunately not all of them are positive. We cannot win the game when we play for only 45 minutes. This is a lesson I wanted to take from when we played Sheffield last week, we did almost the same thing. We responded and played so much better in the second half, but now we have to start the game in the same way we play in the second half.

The two goals you conceded – the two headers – is that a frustration that you conceded them?

Of course. Our keeper [Emily Orman] wants to do so much better. She is very positive.

You did have a positive second half performance, so what were the changes you made at halftime?

Birmingham were so much more aggressive than us in the first 45 minutes, they decided to press harder than us. I regret not being able to change that, but we needed to come back and be ready to fight.

We had a doubt with Kosovare [Asllani], whether she could keep going or not, which is why I waited to make my substitutions.

You’ve got a week's training now before the long away trip up to Durham. The challenges in this league come thick and fast, don’t they?

Yes, we need to analyse this game very fast, take the lesson and move on, because we have another game to prepare for which is also very important. And now it’s even more important that we leave with a result different from today’s. So we need to move on, we need to grow.
