London City Lionesses are delighted to announce that Isobel Goodwin has signed a contract extension until the summer of 2028.

The Derby-born forward arrived at London City in September 2024 from Sheffield United and was a key member of our squad that secured promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League (BWSL) in 2024-2025, scoring 16 goals and topping the league’s scoring charts in the process.
She was named Women’s Championship Player of the Season last season and netted in the draw on the final day against Birmingham City, the fixture which sealed promotion.

In September 2025, the 22-year-old scored her first two goals in the BWSL, giving newly-promoted London City their first top-flight victory in the win against Everton at Goodison Park, also taking home the Player of the Match trophy. The forward was also on the scoresheet in our impressive 3-1 win at Aston Villa last month.

A former England U17 international, Goodwin broke into the England U23 squad last season, netting three times in four games. Her form has led to further call-ups for the Young Lionesses during this campaign and Goodwin was the match-winner as England’s youngsters secured victory over Norway in their most recent international window.
Goodwin has started all 10 top-flight matches in the 2025-2026 season to date, playing the full 90 minutes in all but two encounters.

Speaking on the extension, Goodwin said:
“I feel like this is a place that I can call home. I’m really enjoying my time here and I’m absolutely delighted to sign a new contract.
“Playing with and against world class players week-in week-out is a real privilege. I love it here at London City. I love the players, the staff and I just want to carry that on.

“It was a dream to become a professional footballer and to accomplish that and being here right now is brilliant. I’ve always got the biggest smile on my face and I’m grateful to be here.
“When joining last year, I arrived at the very start of the season. Moving out of my family home to come here was a big decision for me. I feel I’ve grown into the club and making that step into the WSL is something every player wants to do. Playing in the top-flight is helping me grow as a player and person and I’m loving it here.
“Doing the best I can in the WSL and hopefully scoring as many goals as I can are my immediate aims. I just want to help the team win games to give us the best chance of being successful.
“I’d also like to say a huge thank to our fans. We hear you every week, you are our twelfth player on the pitch. Keep bringing the vibes and hopefully we can repay you for your brilliant support!”
