Back Together in Bromley

The Barclays Women’s Super League is back!

After a successful international break for plenty of our squad, attention returns to domestic action this afternoon as Everton visit the CopperJax Community Stadium for a 2pm kick-off.

We went into the break in some style.

Our last WSL outing produced an outstanding 6-1 victory away at Tottenham Hotspur, extending our winning run and providing the perfect way to sign off before players departed to represent their countries.

The international window brought plenty more to celebrate. Freya Godfrey and Isa Kardinaal made their national team debuts, Daniëlle van de Donk made 175 appearances for the Netherlands, and Alexia Putellas reached a historic 150 caps for Spain, marking the occasion with a goal and an assist.

Now, the attention turns back to London City, and with Everton sitting fifth in the early WSL table, another big test awaits in Bromley.

Here is your full match preview.

London City

We return to league action with momentum firmly behind us.

Five consecutive victories across all competitions preceded the international break, with

Eder Maestre’s side responding impressively since our defeat at West Ham in September.

The most recent of those was undoubtedly the most eye-catching.

We travelled to Brisbane Road to face an unbeaten Tottenham side who had started the campaign as one of the WSL’s most dangerous attacking teams, and produced a superb 6-1 victory.

Alexia Putellas and Kadidiatou Diani both scored twice, while Daniëlle van de Donk and Delphine Cascarino were also on target during a dominant afternoon in Leyton.

The result moved us onto 12 points from our opening five league matches, with four wins from five and 15 goals scored.

Only Manchester City and Tottenham had scored more heading into gameweek six, while Alexia has three goals across her last two WSL appearances and Diani's three assists are among the highest totals in the division.

Team News

Eder Maestre’s matchday squad will be confirmed at 1pm BST, one hour before kick-off at the CopperJax Community Stadium.

A number of London City players return following international duty across the world, with the squad coming back together in Bromley ahead of our sixth Barclays WSL fixture of the campaign.

Eder confirmed in his press conference that: “We will have to wait until the last moment to know,” whether Mapi León will be available to play against Everton following her early trip home from the international break.

Full team news will be available across our channels from 1pm.

Opposition Overview: Everton

Everton have quietly put together an impressive start to the new campaign.

Scott Phelan’s side arrive in Bromley sitting fifth in the Barclays Women’s Super League, having collected nine points from their opening five matches.

Their route to those points has been very different to ours.

While London City have been one of the league’s highest-scoring sides, Everton have built their start on tight margins, organisation and efficiency.

All three of their WSL victories this season have come by a single goal.

They defeated Charlton Athletic and West Ham United 1-0 before returning to winning ways immediately before the international break with a 2-1 victory over Birmingham City at Goodison Park.

Ruby Mace was the difference that afternoon, scoring twice, first reacting quickest inside the box before producing an excellent finish from the edge of the area for the winner.

Mace has been one of Everton’s standout performers during the opening weeks and offers an influence at both ends of the pitch.

There is quality throughout Scott Phelan’s squad too.

Japan internationals Yuka Momiki and Honoka Hayashi provide technical quality in midfield and attacking areas, while Ornella Vignola has been another important creative outlet and supplied the assist for Mace’s winner against Birmingham.

Everton have scored only four league goals so far, but three victories from five tell their own story. It will be a different test for Eder Maestre’s side.

They have shown that they do not need many opportunities to decide matches.

Last Time We Met

The two meetings between the sides last season produced one victory apiece.

Our first-ever WSL win came against Everton at Goodison Park in September 2025.

Izzy Goodwin scored twice under the Friday-night lights as we secured a memorable 2-1 victory on Merseyside and the first top-flight points in our history.

Everton responded when the sides met again in Bromley.

Despite London City creating much of the attacking play, Courtney Brosnan produced an impressive performance in goal before Inma Gabarro struck in the second half to give Everton a 1-0 victory at the CopperJax Community Stadium.

That was also Scott Phelan’s first WSL match in charge of Everton.

Eight months on, the sides meet in Bromley once again.
