Emily Orman: 'It was nice to control the game'

London City Lionesses' 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Sunday [15 September] was a team effort, with goalkeeper Emily Orman making three stops en route to victory.

The 21-year-old spoke with londoncitylionesses.com after the match; here is every word she said.

Emily Orman, London City Lionesses

Emily, it was your first win with a new team today – that must feel good?

Yeah, it was nice to go out there and control the game. We’re still finding our feet as a group, but we’re pleased with the result and performance today. It’s a positive start to the season for us, although it is still very early in the project.

How have you found the first few weeks, having joined the team quite close to the start of the season?

Everyone has been really welcoming. It’s exciting that we’re all on the same page. We want all the same thing, which is to get promoted, and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes as the season continues.

There were big cheers from the group after the full-time huddle, what was Jocelyn’s message?

Obviously, we’re super happy with the three points. Now, it’s about building further and continuing to grow as a group. We should’ve put the game to bed earlier and that’ll definitely be our focus moving forward.

London City Lionesses return to Hayes Lane next Sunday [22 September], hosting Bristol City in the Barclays Women's Championship. Don't miss it.
