London City Lionesses face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday [7 October], with kick-off scheduled for 1pm in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
WHEN AND WHERE:
Bramall Lane will set the scene for our next match, with three vital points on the line as Carolina Morace’s squad aim for a return to winning ways.
For the best matchday experience, supporters are advised to purchase their tickets online in advance. However, tickets are also available on the day in Sheffield ahead of our 1pm kick-off.
Unfortunately, our match has not been selected for live broadcast by the FA Player.
OPPOSITION REPORT:
The Blades, who return to the field for the first time since the passing of Maddy Cusack, have taken four points from their first four games of the season.
Jonathan Morgan’s side have been consistent performers this season, with one-goal margins determining the outcome of every match they have played so far.
Rebecca Rayner has the potential to cause the Pride difficulties at Bramall Lane, with one goal in four appearances this term.
The 23-year-old can play anywhere across the forward line or midfield and is known to drop into pockets of space to help her side advance possession into the final third.
Fran Stenson is the Blades’ projected starter between the posts.
PREVIOUS MEETING:
Sheffield United prevailed in our last clash, winning 2-1 at Princes Park courtesy of strikes from Courtney Sweetman-Kirk and Mia Enderby.
The Pride secured all three points on our last visit to Bramall Lane, with Amy Rodgers and Atlanta Primus firing Melissa Phillips’ squad to victory.
NEXT HOME GAME:
Lois Joel & Co. return to Princes Park on Wednesday [11 October], hosting Watford in the Continental Tyres League Cup:
