London City Lionesses are pleased to announce that striker Rianna Jarrett has signed a new contract, keeping her at the club ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Joining from Brighton last summer, Jarrett got off the mark in her first game for the Pride, scoring in a 1-0 win away to Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
In total Jarrett went onto bag five goals in 16 appearances for the Pride, in a season that was unfortunately cut short by injury.
When asked her feelings on signing the new deal, Jarrett said:
"I'm really happy to have signed back with London City for another season.
"Last season was a big learning curve both individually and as a collective, with lots of hard lessons that hopefully we can continue to build on.
"There's a great core group remaining from last season, and although it's sad to see players move on, I'm sure the incoming players will compliment the hard work that's been done and the culture that's been built over the last few seasons."
Head Coach, Melissa Phillips added of Jarrett:
“Rianna brings experiences and leadership qualities that impact our front line consistently despite facing injury over the past season.
“We are confident that she has the ability to be a consistent threat in the league as she was a part of securing some key moments early in the year.
“We are excited to continue working with Ri to get her back to the top of her game.”
Remember London City fans you can see Rianna and the rest of the squad on the opening day of the season by picking up your season ticket now!
