London City Lionesses are pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Loftus to the role of Assistant Coach.
Loftus, an A Licensed coach, started his football career with St Mirren, before moving to China to work as a Youth Development Coach for China Club Football.
Moves back to Scotland and then Norway followed, with Loftus taking up roles with Klepp Il, working first with the youth players, before being appointed First Team Head Coach.
Speaking on his appointment, Head Coach, Melissa Phillips said:
"We are delighted to welcome Nick to London City.
"He was a stand-out candidate from the beginning stages as his values and ambition truly match that of the club. Nick is professional, diligent at his craft and most importantly shares a deep care for people.
"He brings head coaching experience to the position along with a wealth of knowledge for the women’s football landscape having worked professionally in Scotland, China and Norway.
"Nick completes a technical team with Nikita Runnacles, who I am certain will be a great balance to bring out the best in our players."
When asked his thoughts on joining the Lionesses, Nick said:
"I'm delighted to have joined the coaching team at London City," said Loftus.
"It's been both a really quick and a really long process to get here, but I'm really excited to get working with Melissa and Nikita.
"As a coaching team it all comes down to, how can we add value? How can we contribute? And how can we create the best environment for the players to perform and grow?"
