London City To face Crystal Place in Season Opener

The wait is over for the new season fixtures with the Barclays Women’s Championship opening weekend set for 20th and 21st August.

London City Lionesses will contest the first London Derby of the new campaign at home against Crystal Place followed by an away trip to Charlton Athletic. With broadcast slots yet to be decided for the first two weekends, KO times are still to be confirmed.

Finishing second in the league last time out, London City have made no secret of their ambitions to reach the Barclays Super League. The transfer window has seen some exciting new additions to the squad and pre-season is well underway.

Last season saw a 2-1 home win plus a 5-1 away victory against Crystal Place which included Palace’s only goal coming from London City new signing Millie Farrow. The Pride will certainly be looking to repeat their winning season start, which saw them secure all three points against Liverpool, back in August 2021.
