London City Lionesses will take part in next month’s World Sevens Football London Edition (W7F) at Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford.

Eder Maestre’s side will be one of eight Barclays Women’s Super League teams competing to become the W7F champions, through a series of fast-paced seven-a-side games from Thursday 28 to Saturday 30 May 2026.

Taking place just before the 2026 Adobe Women’s FA Cup final, W7F London Edition will create a memorable weekend of women’s football in London.

The W7F London edition will follow successful events in Estoril, Portugal, and Fort Lauderdale, USA, in 2025. It will showcase eight teams from the WSL.

Matches will be played as 7v7 on a reduced‑size natural‑grass pitch, 30‑minute games, and rolling substitutions designed to keep the tempo high and manage player load.   The event will combine a $1.5million prize pool with a strong focus on atmosphere and experience, offering fans multiple matches and clubs in one venue over a single weekend.

Aston Villa, Everton, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also confirmed participants with the remaining two teams to be announced in due course.

Last year, Bayern Munich were crowned champions in the inaugural World Sevens Football tournament at Estádio António Coimbra da Mota in Estoril, Portugal.

Adult tickets start from £17, with passes available on the button below for individual days or as a three-day package to experience the full tournament.

London City Lionesses Chief Executive Martin Semmens said: “We’re happy to be taking part in the upcoming World Sevens Football London Edition next month. For our fans, our players and all our staff it is a great way to close out an exciting first season within the WSL.

“The tournament is a great way to showcase women’s football in our capital city and we’re excited to see many new fans experience the women’s game and our team perform.

“Innovation and fan experience is at the very heart of everything that is good within the women’s game and W7F is a great way for existing and new fans to see a different format that will continue to entertain the fans in a new way.

“We will have many of the world’s best players together in one tournament, in London, which is accessible to every fan of sport to come and experience in a way only the women’s game can deliver.”
