London City Lionesses goalkeeper Shae Yanez appeared in the latest episode of the Footwork Podcast, a series presented by fellow professionals Sean Vinberg and Dylan Williams.
Yanez talks openly about the culture she helped to build with London City, the unique pressures she faces as a goalkeeper, and the mindset required to succeed in her position.
“This is my third season here, a lot of the same players have been around, and we’ve created the culture,” explained the American, “it’s player-led first.
“Your manager and staff can say everything, but it always comes down to your individual battles and how much you want to win for the person next to you. It’s all about taking the season one game at a time and being able to handle adversity when it comes.”
