London City Lionesses is thrilled to announce the relocation of the Club’s training and commercial operations to K Sports Cobdown in Aylesford, Kent.
London City has full access to a pair of professionally-maintained grass pitches, which are perfectly suited to support the first team’s training requirements.
The Club’s Professional Game Academy will share the site in Aylesford, strengthening the link between the senior and junior teams.
“This move creates a foundation where players will have access to better facilities, allowing us to build the culture and community feeling that we want to create at the Club,” said Head of Recruitment & Player Acquisition Ronald Thompson.
"It will help the Club move forward in its overriding ambition to earn promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League and allow staff to share their expertise across the player pathway.
“For the girls in our academy, it is fantastic because they will be able to see our first team players in the fresh every day, feeding their aspirations to become professional footballers.”
Added Under-21s Head Coach Luke Thomas-Arayo: “It is a fantastic opportunity for the Club to be based at one training facility as it will help us create a visible link between our academy and the first team.
“It will allow our young players to see the pathway and what it could mean for them in the future, which is a great target for them to aspire to.”
The Pride will also make full use of the other facilities and services offered on-site, including gym access, astroturf bookings, and catering provision.
K Sports Cobdown General Manager Jack Clark added: “We are delighted to welcome the London City Lionesses to our premier sports facility at K Sports Cobdown. It’s an exciting time for women's football and we’re looking forward to being part of its development in the county.”
Princes Park Stadium will continue to provide the backdrop for London City’s first team fixtures, with season tickets now on sale.
