We’re pleased to announce that London City Lionesses’ First-Team squad and staff have travelled to Spain for a six-day training camp at Murcia’s Pinatar Arena.
The Club’s visit to South-Eastern Spain is a milestone moment in our mission to become the world’s preeminent sports organisation, travelling overseas for the first time since our formation in 2019.
“It’s beneficial on many points,” said head coach Jocelyn Prêcheur. “Firstly, it’s good to have a change of environment during preseason, as we continue to work through the same things to prepare for the competition. The different environment will help generate new energy at a time when bodies are starting to feel a little tired.
“But it’s not only for the football part – we have many new players from different cultures, so we need to build the group, take part in cohesion activities, and learn more about one another. We need to make sure that we all have the same vision and it’s the perfect environment to build our team.”
London City’s preseason campaign started with a 3-0 win over Ipswich Town on Sunday [4 August], with further fixtures to be announced in due course.
The Barclays Women’s Championship returns in a month’s time, with Newcastle United visiting Hayes Lane to open the season on Sunday, 8 September.
With Jocelyn, a new energy and a good work for the cohésion to prépare the compétition for the same vision together ! 💪🏻🔥💙
