London City Lionesses Announce Pre-Season Fixtures Ahead of Barclays Women’s Super League Debut

As preparations continue for our inaugural season in the Barclays Women’s Super League, we are pleased to confirm our pre-season schedule featuring top-tier opposition from both England and Europe.
Our pre-season programme begins with a training camp in the Netherlands, offering valuable time to build cohesion within the group and lay the physical and tactical foundations for the campaign ahead. The first fixture of the summer will see us face FC Twente on Friday 1st August at Vitesse Arnhem (18:00 BST), in what promises to be a strong opening test.
Our preparations then return to England, where we will travel to face Bristol City on Saturday 16th August at the Robins High Performance Centre (17:00 BST). The match provides an opportunity to measure ourselves against competitive domestic opposition as momentum builds ahead of the league opener.
Our final pre-season fixture will take place against Leicester City on Friday 29th August at Belvoir Drive Training Ground (15:00 BST). As an established side in the Barclays Women’s Super League, Leicester will offer a fitting final test as we fine-tune our performance levels for the challenges ahead.
In addition to preparing tactically and physically, the pre-season campaign will also provide an opportunity to integrate our latest signings into the matchday environment. We look forward to seeing Daniëlle van de Donk, Sanni Franssi, Isa Kardinaal, Teyah Goldie, Poppy Pattinson and Elene Lete in action, with each player adding valuable quality, experience, and depth to the squad.
As we enter a new era for our club, these fixtures represent an important step in our evolution — and a chance to begin forging our identity in the top flight of English football.
We will wear a Nike pre-season match kit for these fixtures with the club’s official 2025/26 kits set to be unveiled later in the summer.
