London City Lionesses midfielder Lily Agg has been shortlisted for the Barclays Women’s Championship Player of the Month Award for February.
The Republic of Ireland international played almost every available minute for London City, as the squad recorded two wins and a loss in the race for promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Agg, who partners Shanade Hopcroft in central midfield, found the back of the net twice in February and was named SETL Player of the Match for her performance versus Sunderland A.F.C.
When asked about the 29-year-old’s form, interim head coach Nikita Runnacles said: “Lily is someone who rolls up her sleeves and really works in our central areas. She works extremely hard to pressure on the opposition, tries to calm situations down when she is in possession, but has also been able to hit the back of the net as well. We’ve seen the next level from her recently and I’m sure she will be able to carry that forward.”
The Pride, this is where we need your help. You have until 11:00 on Thursday [16 March] to vote for Lily as your Barclays Women’s Championship Player of the Month for February. Vote!
