Last night, our very own Kosovare Asllani and Sofia Jakobsson secured their spaces in the knockout stages of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, as Sweden recorded a commanding 3-0 win over Poland.
Kosovare Asllani produced a vintage performance, leading with her typical class as her country brushed aside Poland.
In the 28th minute, our captain crossed a pinpoint ball into Arsenal’s Stina Blackstenius to head home from close-range, earning a deserved 1-0 lead.
Asllani then doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, guiding her header into the bottom left corner on her 201st appearance for Sweden.
Lina Hurtig nodded a third for Sweden, who sit at the top of Group C without conceding a goal.
They face Germany on Saturday night, with both teams on six points with tickets to the quarter-finals.
