Karin Muya extends deal ahead of 2022/23 season

Karin Muya has put pen to paper on a new deal with London City Lionesses, after a remarkable first season at Princes Park.

Joining the Lionesses last summer, Muya went on to make 24 appearances in all competitions, racking up six goals and five assists in the process.

Playing out on the flanks, it soon became a common sight to see her cutting inside and getting the better of many a Championship defender.

Indeed, in her first season many highlights already stand out, from her brace against Charlton to her winning goal against Brighton to secure us our first win over WSL opposition.

Speaking on the announcement of her new contract, Muya said:

"I'm delighted to continue my journey at London City.

"I'm excited to grow, stride forward and build from last season and achieve even more success at a club with great ambition"

Head Coach, Melissa Phillips, added on the new deal:

"Karin was an exceptional addition to our squad last season and we are delighted to secure her for the future.

"She is a key part of our team success and we are excited to work with Karin to take her to the next level alongside the club.

"She has the ability to terrorize opposition back lines with her pace and dynamic ability when running with the ball.

"With a season under her belt back in England, we know she will only continue to be a threat in our attack and assert herself in this league. Looking forward to to working towards our ambition with Karin on board."
