London City extended their lead at the top of the Barclays Women's Championship with a 3-1 win over Portsmouth on Sunday [5 February] , marking the start of a three-game week for the Lionesses.

Here is the story of the match in eight photos provided by Club Photographer Wing Chong:

The Lionesses enter the field of play accompanied by players from Island Boys & Girls F.C., an official sister club to London City.

The Lionesses exchange blows with the Black Cats in the opening exchanges, with forward Atlanta Primus marking her return to the starting eleven with an eye-catching performance.

It just had to be number 19... Sarah Ewens! The Lionesses break the deadlock just before the half-hour mark.

Lily Agg marks her 50th appearance for the Club with a wide smile, the Player of the Match award, and a goal!

Deadline. Day. Arrival. Kyra Carusa replaced Ewens after 60 minutes to make her debut in blue.

It's 3-1 in the final minutes and second-half substitute Lucy Shepherd protects the ball in the attacking half.

Job done! The Lionesses see out the final minutes to move three points clear at the top of the table. Jamie-Lee approves!
