Anna Pedersen joins Women's National league side Billericay Town on loan

London City Lionesses goalkeeper Anna Pedersen has joined Billericay Town on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old arrived at Princes Park from Everton in July 2021 and has been a mainstay in the matchday squad since.

Pedersen, whose former clubs include Leeds United and Huddersfield Town, represented England as a youth international and will gain valuable experience with the Blues in the FA Women’s National League while still training with the Lionesses in Dartford.

"Her progression within our training environment has been fantastic: we've seen really growth in her athleticism and ability around the goal in the last 18 months," said interim head coach Nikita Runnacles.

"Being able to go out and find game time in a different environment is what's really going to help. She's still going to be around the club, training with the group, and that's really important for her.

"But now she'll have that game time where she can work on her decision-making and how she handles pressures to prepare her for the next stage of her career and development."

Pedersen added: "I'm very excited for this opportunity and looking forward to a new challenge where I can continue my development and compete for more minutes, because that's what every player wants.

"Training with Keats, Shae [Yanez], and H[ermione Cull] in the week and playing with Billericay at the weekend gives me the perfect balance because I still get the technical aspects here, which is how I've developed as a goalkeeper so far."

Everyone at Princes Park would like to wish Anna the best of luck for her loan spell with Billericay Town.
