María Pérez is a smart, modern and technically gifted midfielder – likened to Sergio Busquets by her national team manager.

A core member of the Spanish World Cup and Nations League winning squads, the 23-year-old midfielder has been successful in both her international and domestic career.

She has split her domestic career between Barcelona, Barcelona B and Sevilla (on loan) and she has picked up the league title on three occasions, the Copa de la Reina once and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

After joining London City, an unfortunate injury sidelined Pérez for the best part of her first season with the club, but she returned to help the club earn promotion to the WSL, forming a strong partnership in midfield with Julia Roddar.
