Leanne Cowan returned to London City LIonesses after two seasons away in October 2023.

The versatile full-back, who can play on either flank, reprises old relationships at Princes Park following a pair of campaigns with Barclays Women's Championship rivals Crystal Palace.

“The last match that I was involved in was in March 2022 – a lot of work has been put in behind the scenes and the only reason I’m back playing football is because of the people who got me through my rehab," explained Cowan.

“It feels like a really long journey has finally come to an end and now it’s just about trying to catch up with the group in terms of fitness. It’s exciting to be involved and it’s nice that we’re on an overnight trip because I’ll get to know everyone a little bit better which will be a lot of fun.”
