Last Time Out

Last time out, London City bowed out of the Subway Women’s League Cup, despite recording an away victory against Ipswich Town in their final Group D fixture, beating them 2-0.

A goal in either half courtesy of Finnish duo Sanni Franssi and Lotta Lindström sealed the three points at the Jobserve Community Stadium.

It was a special day for academy trio Chloe Kabo, Sienna Loom and Tara Walsh, who were named in the matchday squad after impressing for the U21s this season, with Loom making her debut for the club alongside goalkeeper Sophia Poor.

Opposition Overview

Our last home game of 2025 happens to be a crucial fixture, as only four points separate London City (6th) and Brighton (7th) heading into this weekend’s game.

The Seagulls finished last year in a record 5th place, with Dario Vidošić taking charge on the south coast last summer and quickly made an impact.

The Australian coach is known for his firm commitment to attacking, possession-based football, a philosophy that produced some of the league’s most eye-catching performances throughout the last campaign.

There will be familiar faces for the travelling side on matchday, with left-back Poppy Pattinson and forward Nikita Parris joining the London City ranks this summer.

The Seagulls have struggled for consistent form in the weeks leading up to this fixture, however recorded a convincing 4-1 win over Leicester City last time out in the Women’s Super League.

London City return from the international break looking to make this their fourth straight win in all competitions, and their fourth straight home win in the Women’s Super League.
