London City Lionesses are thrilled to confirm María Pérez has signed a new contract until the summer of 2028.

The Spanish midfielder joined the club in September 2024. An unfortunate injury sidelined Pérez for the best part of her first season but she returned to help the club earn promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League.
A core member of the Spanish World Cup and Nations League winning squads, the 24-year-old midfielder has been successful in both her international and domestic career.

She has split her domestic career between Barcelona, Barcelona B and Sevilla (on loan) and has picked up the three league titles, the Copa de la Reina once and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
To date, she has made 20 domestic appearances across the WSL and WSL2 and four in domestic cups.

Pérez said: “I’m so happy to be extending my contract at London City.
“I feel settled at the club, in the country and the league and it was an easy decision.
“As soon as the club spoke to me, I knew I wanted to stay here. I’m still young and ready to compete and give everything for this club.
“What we want to create as a team and a club, for me it’s the best project in the English league.
“You can see with the new training ground which is starting to be built now and the wider investment into staff and players, the club has an exciting ambition and we’ll see how we do next season.
“After our first season in the Women’s Super League, we know the league now and we want to finish as high as possible.
“To have the club’s highest ever crowd against Arsenal at Bromley was amazing.
“I encourage the supporters to come back next season and will give everything for you."
