Last season, the Lionesses proved their quality by finishing just three points off the summit in the Barclays Women’s Championship – the second division of women’s football in England. The campaign was filled with memorable moments, including twice breaking our record home attendance.
One of the standout individual achievements from last season was Sarah Ewens winning the Golden Boot, an accolade handed to her after scoring a remarkable 12 goals in 19 league appearances.
London City appeared in the fourth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup, travelling to Brisbane Road to face Tottenham Hotspur live on the BBC iPlayer.
Princes Park also provided the backdrop for opposition from the Barclays Women’s Super League, with West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion visiting in the Continental League Cup.
