Alanna Kennedy and Saki Kumagai have been named in the FIFPRO Team of the Tournament for the Asian Cup.
Saki Kumagai and Japan were victorious, beating the hosts Australia in the final in front of the largest crowds in the tournament’s history.

Kumagai played four games for her country in the Asian Cup, first playing in 11-0 and 4-0 wins over India and Vietnam in the group stages.
She played two full 90’s in the semi-final and the final, scoring in a 4-1 semi-final win over South Korea, and keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 final win over Australia.
Kennedy – scoring five goals from midfield in the competition – picked up the MVP award after the final.

She scored five goals in three games against Iran, South Korea and North Korea, a vital asset to the Matildas across the tournament. She also played every minute for the hosts barring in their first game against the Philippines.
This FIFPRO Team of the Tournament is the first player-voted honour of its kind at a continental tournament in Asia, and the final team was voted on by more than 100 players from participating nations at the Women’s Asian Cup.
