Jade Bailey puts pen to paper with London City Lionesses

London City Lionesses is thrilled to announce the arrival of Jade Bailey on a free transfer, with the midfielder available for our upcoming fixtures against Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

The 28-year-old arrives at Princes Park to bolster Carolina Morace’s midfield options, adding experience from spells with Arsenal, Chelsea, Reading, and Liverpool.

“We are pleased to add Jade to our team as we arrive at a crucial moment in the season,” explained the Italian. “She has a lot of experience, which comes with a strong sense of positioning and vision.

“Jade may need time before playing a full match for us, but she has the skills to suit our team and we are happy to welcome her to the Club.”

Bailey, a two-cap senior international with Jamaica, was thrilled to put pen to paper with the Pride earlier this week, with her signing marking a significant moment in her return to fitness.

“I’m very excited for the rest of the season,” explained the London-born defensive midfielder. “After being out for a while, I’m looking forward to contributing and helping the team win as many points as possible this campaign.

“Everyone has been very welcoming, it’s a good group of players and staff with a good set-up behind the scenes. I wanted to come into an environment where I could continue to grow, London City has serious aspirations which match my mentality.”

Bailey, who is contracted for the remainder of the current Barclays Women’s Championship season, has selected the No. 99 jersey.
