Atlanta Primus puts pen to paper and signs a new deal with the Pride

London City Lionesses is delighted to announce Atlanta Primus has signed a new deal with the club ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Primus joined the Pride for the 2020/21 season following a successful campaign playing in the

United States for Division 1 programme, Cal State University Fullerton.


The striker made herself a key player in Phillips’ squad this past season making a match start in

all team competitions upon signing for the Lionesses. Primus netted three goals and

was awarded Player of the Match following a top performance against Durham FC Women

despite a 1-0 loss.


She made herself indispensable in the matchup against newly promoted Barclays WSL side, Leicester City FC Women, getting two goals in the 4-1 victory which gave the Foxes their first loss of the 2020/21 FA Women's Championship season.


On Primus’s new deal, Head Coach Melissa Phillips said, "Atlanta was an integral part of our line-up this past year, and feel we’ve only just scratched the surface of what she’s capable of.


"She has an incredible drive to improve and desire to drive standards in all areas of the team. Her ambitions and values match the direction the club is moving and we are eager to work alongside her in the pursuit of both her personal/professional and our team goals.”


Primus, on looking ahead to the upcoming season said, “I am very excited to have re-signed with London City Lionesses. I’m looking forward to building on the foundations we set last season and pushing onto bigger things this year!


“I can’t wait to get back to it and be back competing day in and day out.”
