Maddi Wilde returns to London City Lionesses on two-year contract

We’re excited to announce that Maddi Wilde has joined London City Lionesses on a permanent two-year contract, with the option of a further season in blue.

The English full-back returns to the Pride after spending last season on loan from Bristol City, making a total of 25 Barclays Women’s Championship, Adobe Women’s FA Cup, and Continental Tyres League Cup appearances.

“I had conversations with the Club over the summer and they were all really positive,” said the 20-year-old.

“After last season, I could see the steps that were being taken behind the scenes, with Michele [Kang] pushing standards forward, and I knew that I wanted to be part of this environment again.

“With all the changes that are happening at the training ground, it shows that we’re really investing in the project and that we’re going to be in the best position to fight for promotion this time.”

Wilde quickly established her credentials as a fan-favourite last term, providing two goals and two assists from the wide areas.

Director of Football Ronald Thompson added: “Playing for us last season, Maddi proved her versatility across a number of different positions and roles. She didn’t always have the opportunity to play in her best role and we felt that we needed to add someone in that full-back role this season.

“We think that Maddi has the potential to become a really, really good defensive-minded player, so it was an easy decision for us to bring her back permanently.”

Maddi has joined the Pride – and now it’s your chance.
