Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has signed a new one-year contract with London City Lionesses, we’re thrilled to announce.

The English forward, who joined the Pride from Aston Villa in August 2023, recorded eight goals and two assists in 23 Barclays Women’s Championship, Adobe Women’s FA Cup, and Continental Tyres League Cup appearances last term.

“The Club’s ambition and where it wants to be is a huge positive and aligns with where I want to take my career,” explained Boye-Hlorkah. “We’re aiming for promotion to the Women’s Super League and to put London City on the map.

“First of all, we need to show that we can compete in this league – but our ambition, which starts with Michele [Kang] and flows through everyone at the Club, is to win. I asked myself ‘why wouldn’t you want to be part of that?’ and knew I wanted to continue at London City.

“My personal goal is to help the team more than I did last season. I feel like I have more to give – we’re working towards more goals and more wins, our goal is promotion, and I hope that I can make an impact for.”

The 28-year-old was a standout performer throughout her first season in blue, playing an instrumental role in the team’s historic run to the Conti Cup quarter-finals with a brace against Crystal Palace in the final round of group-stage play.

“Immediately, when she started in preseason training, Chantelle showed a lot of technical and physical quality,” said head coach Jocelyn Prêcheur, “she has a great influence on the quality of our play and it is excellent news that she decided to continue with the Lionesses.

“Chantelle is a very good option in many forward roles, she can have a big influence on our offensive efficiency and I’m sure she will help us to build as a team and support the project with all the quality she has."

Boye-Hlorkah lifted the Barclays Women’s Championship title with Everton in 2017, before accumulating six seasons of Barclays Women’s Super League experience with the Toffees and Aston Villa.
