We’re thrilled to announce that Emily Orman has completed a permanent transfer from Chelsea to London City Lionesses for an undisclosed fee.
The Pride’s latest addition carries a wealth of professional and youth international experience, with Barclays Women’s Championship loan spells at Crystal Palace (2021-22) and Reading (2023-24) and 12 appearances for England Under-17s and Under-19s.
“It’s exciting to join London City because I feel that our values really align,” said the Surrey-born shot-stopper.
“The values that I hold myself to are also important to Club, with the opportunity to play and develop being really attractive. It’s cool to be part of an independent set-up, hopefully we’ll be able to create a name for ourselves and bring more fans along with us.
“I really want to develop more in my own space, growing with the team and helping in any way I can. Promotion is the result of consistent performances – and that’s what I want to deliver for the team.”
Orman was a standout performer for Reading last term, helping the Royals avoid the relegation places with five clean sheets in 18 league appearances.
The 21-year-old was part of Chelsea’s first-team squad a season earlier, providing support between the posts as the Blues claimed a historic league and cup double.
Orman has agreed terms on a three-year contract at Hayes Lane and will wear the No. 32 jersey this season.
