London City Lionesses are delighted to confirm goalkeeper Elene Lete has penned a contract extension until the summer of 2028.

Lete joined the club from Liga F side Real Sociedad, arriving on a deal that initially ran until the summer of 2027.
She impressed in her first season in the Barclays Women’s Super League, playing every league game last season and was shortlisted for the division’s ‘save of the season’ for her penalty stop against Brighton and Hove Albion in December.

Before arriving at London City, she made 50 senior appearances for Real Sociedad, establishing herself as one of the most consistent and commanding goalkeepers in the Spanish top-flight.
On the international stage, she has represented Spain at every youth level U17, U19, U20 and U23 and has made her senior debut, keeping a clean sheet against the Czech Republic in a 3-0 victory.
On signing her new deal, Lete said: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract with this club.
“Here at London City, you are training with the best players in the world, the competition in the league is very high and it’s amazing to be here.
“I feel I improved a lot as a goalkeeper during my first season and I want to continue to keep getting better. I’m giving my best every day for this club. I feel I’m improving daily along with the players, the staff and everyone at the club.
“The fans are amazing, every match we have great support.
“Everyone wants to improve, the mentality is to continue to grow. In Spain we have a phrase ‘hacer piña’ which means sticking and working together as a group which is what we need to do.
“I’m excited for the future and what is to come.”
