We’re thrilled to welcome highly-regarded wide forward Amelia Ajao to London City Lionesses on a three-year contract.
The 18-year-old arrives at Hayes Lane after a season with Chelsea’s Professional Game Academy, signing her first senior deal with the Pride following spells with Crawley Wasps and Crystal Palace.
“The Club is on a really exciting journey and having the opportunity to help the team and make an impact as we aim for the Women’s Super League was really appealing to me,” Ajao explained.
“I play on the wing and I like to be myself and show my skills. I like trying to beat players and I have a good shot, so hopefully I’m able to support the team this season.”
Ajao is the second new player to join London City this summer, following Kosovare Asllani a week ago.
“We like Amelia as a wide player – she’s technically-gifted, quick, and strong,” said Director of Football Ronald Thompson. “We know that she will improve as she gets older, becoming a more two-footed player.
“Amelia is someone we wanted to add to the Club because she is keen to learn. We’re on a journey and we need some youngsters who can stay with us through the journey. Her profile fits what were looking for in a young player and we’re excited to welcome her to London City.”
