London City Lionesses are delighted to announce Alli Murphy as their first new signing of
the 2020/21 season.
The midfielder joins the club from Icelandic side UMF Sefloss.
Commenting on Murphy’s arrival Head Coach Lisa Fallon said, "First and foremost, Alli is a
fantastic person. Energy, passion and enthusiasm just radiate from her and I know she will
be a brilliant addition to our squad.
“She has played at the highest level in the United States and has experienced playing in
tough European leagues also.
“She's an exciting attacking player and I know she will capture the hearts of our supporters.
With strong Irish and London roots, Alli will feel right at home with London City Lionesses
and we are absolutely delighted to have her on board."
Born and raised in Texas, Murphy first made her mark in the 2015 season with Texas Tech University, where she was named Team MVP. Her first season as a professional player was in 2016 after being drafted by NWSL side Washington Spirit, who finished runner-up that year. Since then and before joining UMF Sefloss, Murphy has had spells with Houston Dash, Swedish Division One side, Gustavs GolF and PEC Zwolle in the Netherlands.
On arrival in London Murphy said “I can’t wait to get to Princes Park and start training with the rest of the London City Lionesses. I’m excited for the direction the club is going and the ambitions the coaching staff has for this team. I’m a competitor at heart and I can’t wait to
get started.”
