Advice from Mel
Be driven, be bold and be invested in your personal growth. Always choose to do what you love and are passionate about. Stick with it, because if the journey was easy, everyone would be doing it.
I've always had a tremendous passion for football and for helping people. I started coaching at the age of 18 while still playing and knew it was the direction my career was headed. Becoming the youngest head coach of a NCAA Division 1 program at CSU Bakersfield, to then an assistant coach at University of San Fransisco, and then an assistant coach at University of Pennsylvania. I've been fortunate to have incredible mentors along the way that have paved a path for women in coaching.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be joining the London City Lionesses. The vision, values and culture of the club are very compelling. I look forward to supporting Lisa and the Lionesses squad in fulfilling our ambitions.
